The Engineering Department provides engineering and surveying expertise in all matters relating to municipal engineering for the Town of Wethersfield. The Department is responsible for preparing and administering the capital budget; design and management of municipal construction projects; administration of annual sidewalk maintenance, pavement marking, crack sealing and road paving programs; reviewing proposed development plans for local boards and commissions and providing technical assistance to various committees; contractor licensing and permitting for improvements within the public right-of-way; administering the survey, mapping and technical requirements of a town-wide Geographic Information System; and in general, assuring that the interests of the Town residents are met in all engineering and surveying matters.
Contractor License and General Excavation Permit applications may now be scanned and emailed to EngineeringApplications@wethersfieldct.gov. Check payments and surety bond forms must be mailed or delivered to the Engineering Division Office for applications to be processed. Associated fees are as follows:
Annual Contractor License Fee = $75.00 ($50.00 for renewal from previous year)
General Excavation Permit Fee = $40.00
