Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers supplement the Parks and Recreation Department and allow the department to bring creativity and vitality to its programs and offerings. Consider donating your time and joining the ranks of the many dedicated people already volunteering.
General Openings
The Wethersfield Parks & Recreation Department has additional volunteer opportunities including Special Events, Cleanup of Parks, Environment and Nature Projects, Aquatics and many, many more. By volunteering, individuals have the benefit of learning new skills, meeting new friends, building resumes and giving back to the community. Groups are also welcomed. Contact the Parks & Recreation Department at (860) 721-2890 for further information.
Nature Center Volunteers
The Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center invites students ages 13+ and adults to serve important roles in special events and on-going jobs that support the nature center's educational mission. Volunteers and interns help staff care for animals and plants, greet visitors, assist teachers, co-organize events, publicize programs, maintain a safe facility, etc. Volunteers are matched with events and jobs based on skills, interests, and availability. Submit a volunteer application included in our Volunteer Handbook. Also feel free to contact the Nature Center at (860) 721-2980 for more information.
Therapeutic Opportunities
Volunteer with after school, Special Olympics training and fundraising events. Enhance the skills and experiences of our children and/or teens while gaining valuable experiences and lasting memories. Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older. Contact Jahlim Cuttino at (860) 721-2952.
