In August 2025, the Metropolitan District (MDC) began conducting maintenance activities on existing sanitary sewer easements in the Town of Wethersfield. This maintenance is necessary for the MDC to inspect and maintain these assets. Prior to conducting the easement clearing, MDC personnel will survey and stake out the existing easements. This step is often done weeks or months in advance of the maintenance work. Staff may be seen walking the easements during working hours. Entry into homes is not required.
These activities will be located within existing 20’ sanitary sewer easements. The maintenance activities will consist of cutting trees and removing small brush and vegetation. No excavation will be performed as part of this program. Subsequent notifications will be provided prior to any clearing.
Work hours are generally between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
