Please be advised the Town of Wethersfield is under contract with TaxServ Capital Services for the collection of the town's delinquent Motor Vehicle and Personal Property taxes. If you receive a letter from TaxServ, you MUST call TaxServ to discuss your account and arrange payment. If you do call the Tax Office you will be directed to TaxServ.

Did you receive an Alias Tax Warrant?

(CGS 12-162 Alias Tax Warrant) When motor vehicle or personal property taxes have become delinquent, there is a possibility that your bills will be turned over to a state marshal or constable for collection. Once an Alias Tax Warrant has been served, the collection process for those bills are handled only by the Marshal/Constable who served the warrant. A constable is an appointed official of the Town. Connecticut state marshals are sworn law enforcement officers in the State of Connecticut. About Us

The Tax Collection Division of Finance performs timely billing and collection of all legally assessed taxable town property in accordance with budgetary and statutory guidelines. They process and deposit all departmental revenue and collect all parking tickets and false alarm revenue.

This division's primary purpose is the timely billing and collection of taxes on all legally assessed taxable property in town. It performs its functions in accordance with budgetary and statutory guidelines and falls within the jurisdiction of the Director of Finance.
