August 1st - September 30th

Wethersfield Remembers 9/11 Exhibit

The Wethersfield Historical Society and the Richard M. Keane Foundation are pleased to present, “Twenty Years Later: Remembering 9/11 and Its Impact on the Wethersfield Community”. The exhibit will be held at The Keeney Center, 200 Main Street, Wethersfield. The hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10 AM – 4 PM, and Sunday 1-4PM. More info!

August 4th & 11th, 6:30pm

Summer Theater on the Lawn

Spend a couple Wednesday evenings with the New Zenith Theatre Company on the Webb-Deane-Stevens lawn. August 4, see  “Tuck Everlasting,”  and August 11, “A Midsummer Night Dream.” The museum grounds open at 5:30 p.m. You're invited to bring blankets, beach chairs, and picnic on the lawn until curtain time at 6:30pm. For ages 10 and older. More info!

August 6th - Aug. 27th (Fridays) 5:30pm

Summer Courtyard Music Series

A diverse music series in the museum’s new courtyard will fill delight guests all summer long. The Summer Courtyard Music Series will begin July 9, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. and feature everything from Latin jazz to colonial tunes to classical favorites to modern pop. Inclement weather will move performances into the Holcombe Education Center. See schedule here!

August 5th & September 10th

Exhibit Reception at Keeney Center

The Wethersfield Historical Society and the Richard M. Keane Foundation are pleased to present, “Twenty Years Later: Remembering 9/11 and Its Impact on the Wethersfield Community”. There will be 2 receptions open to the public: August 5 and September 10 (to which former and current dignitaries and officials will be invited as well). Both are 4-7pm. More info!

Time's Fool Company Presents: CT Shakespeare in the Park

Time’s Fool Company will be preforming Romeo & Juliet on the Keeney Center Lawn at 200 Main Street in Old Wethersfield. FREE admission (donations welcome). Bring lawn chairs or blankets, picnics, and the whole family. More info!

Summer Living History Series

Storyteller, actor, historian and playwright, Tammy Denease brings to life the “hidden” stories of three Black women during a Summer Living History Series. A 6 p.m. reception precedes each 6:30 p.m. performance. More info!

The Streets of Hartford 

Ever wondered how Hartford streets got their names? Mary Falvey, Director of Hartford Preservation Alliance, leads this tour highlighting Cedar Hill Cemetery residents whose names grace the capital city. Registration Required. More info!

August 22th, 8:30am - 12:00pm

Old Wethersfield 5k & 10K

Run the single-loop 5K or double-loop 10K through historic, quaint streets with finish in scenic Wethersfield Cove on an unpaved trail along the water. Spread out and recover post-race in the grass with packaged snacks and hydrate with the custom, Big Mouth water bottle participants earn for swag. More info!

The 2nd Annual PorchFest on Main

Join us as Explore Wethersfield host their 2nd Annual PorchFest on Main! Come down to the historic district of Old Wethersfield to enjoy music like you never herd it before. Bands and artists will be performing on the porches, front yards, and court yards of Main Street. More info!
