Follow a trail on the marsh as you learn about the promise of the Elm Restoration Project. Hike the edge of the farm fields that once hosted the “Pyquag” Native American summer camp. Figure Drawing
Strengthen your skills and anatomical knowledge through drawing the figure from life. The instructor will guide the participants through drawing a series of short poses leading up to one long pose. Artists of all skill levels are encouraged to join. More info!

Portrait Drawing From a Photo
Working from a photo reference of your making, learn to draw the image to perfection using the sight-size method. All levels welcome. More info!

Fundamentals of Oil Panting
Mix accurate values and colors and create a realistic sense of dimensional form by studying different techniques from the Renaissance to the 19th Century. Students work at their own pace. Open to teen and adult artists. More info!

Color Bootcamp
We will dive into the complex world of color mixing, perception and relationships. Includes understanding tools, developing a color strategy, learning how to make and test a color study. Great for absolute beginners and veteran painters. More info!

Bargue/Cast Drawing
Based on the 19th C. French Academic drawing course, designed by Charles Bargue, students will develop sight size drawing skills with a focus on shapes, form, line, and values. Demonstrations and individual critiques. Open to artists at all levels. More info!

Head out along the Hartford dike that divides the Folly Brook Nature area from the South Meadows Industrial Park. We’ll walk through the area slated for “tree removal” for the Brainard Airport approach and learn about advantages of “shrub/scrub” and early success-ional habitats. Pre-registration only.
