J Bar Express on New Years Eve

Hop aboard the FREE "J Bar Express" at the Keeney Memorial Center 200 Main St. to J Restaurant | Bar! Be part of history as they drop a 6 foot ball from a 110 foot crane. Music, entertainment and more!

GMCT Brisk Winter Walk

Hike along farm fields that once hosted the original “Pyquag” Native American summer camp and along the marsh, across the Frechette Field, 3.2 acres of farmland, swamp, and a pollinator garden. More info!

January 2 - 5, 9:30am - 4:30pm

Figure Drawing

Students will strengthen their drawing skills and anatomical knowledge through drawing the figure from life. Comparative measurement, structural anatomy, materials, light and form will be discussed. More info!

January 5, 1:00pm

GMCT Brisk Winter Walk

Start with a short walk at our Wolf Parcel and DeMille Easement. Then stay for a longer walk out along the Hartford dike that divides the Folly Brook Nature area from the South Meadows Industrial Park. More info!

January 6, 4:30pm - 7:30pm

Bargue/ Cast Drawing

Based on the 19th C. French Academic drawing course, designed by Charles Bargue, students will develop sight size drawing skills with a focus on shapes, form, line, and values. Demonstrations and individual critiques. Open to artists at all levels. More info!

January 7, 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Skin, Fur & Feathers in Oil

This course will introduce artists, at all levels, to a step by step approach of establishing realist skin, fur and feathers in wildlife painting. More info!

January 8, 5:00pm - 8:00pm 

Oil Painting a Still Life

Create a realistic still life oil painting using a step-by-step process. Students will work at their own pace. Open to teen and adult artists at all levels. More info

January 10, 1:00pm - 4:00pm

A Fresh Approach to LandScape Painting

Learn different techniques including atmospheric landscapes to painting with only 4 colors, color mixing, structural design, value studies and the importance of a good foundational drawing. More info!

January 18, 10:00am

GMCT Brisk Winter Walk

At the Putnam Park parking lot, we’ll peel away the centuries to imagine the river bank before the bridge, and explore the 300+ acre Crow Point property owned by Goodwin College. More info!
